What is a chemical peel?

A chemical peel is a non-invasive yet deeply penetrating skin treatment that rejuvenates your complexion. During a chemical peel, layers of old or damaged skin are dissolved, triggering the body to renew and refresh the skin with healthy skin cells. A chemical peel provides a dramatic boost in collagen and elastin.

Chemical peels are very customizable skin treatments. Before you undergo your chemical peel, we will meet with you in a consultation to determine the ideal peel for your aesthetic goals. No matter what you dislike about your complexion, a chemical peel is an excellent option to treat your issue.

Ideal chemical peel candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Have no current skin infections or outbreaks
  • Are not pregnant or nursing
  • Within the past six months, haven’t taken isotretinoin (an oral acne medication)

Glyderm Peel

If you’re experiencing uneven skin tone, melasma, hyperpigmentation (and any other discoloration of the skin), or residual scarring from acne, our Glyderm® peel may be ideal for you. This peel uses glycolic acid to improve the texture, tone, and clarity of the skin. It also unclogs the pores to help continue skin renewal for a healthier overall look.

The Glyderm peel is excellent for all skin types, and involves a simple application after which patients can go back to their regular day. We recommend about six treatments, although every patient will be different. Patients who choose the Glyderm peel can expect skin that is more radiant, smoother, and evened out — with minimized and tightened pores.

Prodigy Peel P2

The Prodigy Peel (P2) from iS Clinical® is a great option for those who want to improve moderate acne and acne scarring, pigment irregularities, and dull skin. It works for all skin types and combines resorcinol, lactic acid, salicylic acid, and citric acid, as well as an effective booster. This booster encourages healthy collagen and cell turnover; removes debris from the pores; enhances smoothness; provides lightening properties with the ability to lift uneven pigment; encourages collagen production, and reduces the appearance of UVB and UVA damage.

Prodigy Peel P3

The Prodigy Peel (P3) is similar to the P2, but it is a medium-depth peel and uses an advanced form of salicylic acid, which has been developed to encourage cell renewal at an even deeper level for those with more severe skin conditions.

The Prodigy P3 Peel addresses loose skin, fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone and texture, and discoloration, working to powerfully target skin laxity, acne, hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven skin texture. The Prodigy P3 Peel is especially effective for those with hyperpigmentation and skin that is prone to acne and while the P2 can be used on all skin types, the P3 is best for those with Fitzpatrick types I, II, and Ill.
