What to Expect During Treatment

Before treatment, we will cleanse, prep, and numb your skin where the microneedles will be penetrating. We will apply a topical numbing cream for 20 minutes and then inject a local dilute anesthetic.

In some cases, we will inject a local dilute anesthetic. The Morpheus8 device will be applied directly to the skin in a “stamp” pattern. As the device stamps, the microneedles will go into the skin and deliver radiofrequency heat energy.

This process melts unwanted fat, triggers new collagen, and tightens up the skin. This feels a bit uncomfortable, but not painful. The majority of patients who have this treatment done find it very tolerable, worth it, and are eager to return for their next session.

Recovery

You may experience redness, some small bumps, pinpoint bleeding, and itching in the treated area for 1-2 hours following treatment. For one week after treatment, it’s important to avoid any activity that will cause you to sweat (exercise, saunas, baths, hot yoga, etc.) because it can aggravate the skin. You will also need to refrain from using products such as lotion, perfume, and makeup for two days on the treated area.

Results

Some improvement can be seen after a single treatment, but for optimal results, we recommend 3-6 sessions spaced one month apart. Touch-up treatments can be done 1-2 times per year. You’ll begin to see noticeable results in 3-6 months, and if you have multiple treatments done, the results will start to appear even more quickly. The new collagen that is created will continue to help your skin look firmer and softer over time.
