Non-Invasive Incontinence Treatment

Urinary incontinence is a very common condition that impacts 200 million people worldwide. It can be caused by pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, age, and obesity. Those who suffer from urinary incontinence should seek treatment, as the condition doesn’t go away on its own — and often becomes worse over time. BTL Emsella addresses each kind of incontinence (stress, urge, and overflow) and has been helping patients get their life back.

How Does BTL Emsella Work?

The BTS Emsella device is an electromagnetic chair. Patients sit on this chair for about 30 minutes as it rehabilitates their pelvic floor.

The technology works by using focused, high-intensity electromagnetic technology which causes deep pelvic floor muscle stimulation, as well as restoration of the neuromuscular control. Scientific research has shown that 95% of patients treated with BTL Emsella reported significant improvement in their quality of life after the procedure.

What to Expect During Treatment

BTL Emsella treatments are quick, convenient, and painless. You will simply sit on the electromagnetic chair for about half an hour. We recommend bringing a book or something to read during this time, as phones are not permitted during this treatment. Positioning correctly is very important, and so some patients will benefit from changing to a gown to allow more flexibility in positioning.

The chair will deliver pelvic floor contractions via electromagnetic waves which pulse through the pelvic floor from the chair.

These electromagnetic waves create over 12,000 contractions (Kegel exercises) during the treatment, which greatly improves muscle tone in the vagina and the surrounding tissues, as well as the muscles at the vaginal opening. The nerves also become less overactive. Many women find the treatment very relaxing.

The majority of patients say that the treatment does not hurt, although there is some tingling and the sensation of contractions.

After treatment, there is zero downtime. We recommend sessions twice weekly for three weeks, and then maintenance treatments as needed.
